I have a problem with my passenger mirror not working, I know it's a faulty connection as it works when I press against the rubber cover in the A pillar.
Does anyone know the name of the connectors used in the A pillar socket. They look like tiny torpedos!
Also where I can buy the male and female connectors (apart from BMW).
Thanks.
PG.

Best bet is BMW,they are not as expensive as you expect!

Thanks for the link, I'm going to replace the mirror connectors as cleaning hasn't helped, is there a specific tool for removing the pins/connectors?

Yes there is a tool for removing them, they normally come in a kit of terminal tools.
For that connector its basically a tiny metal tube that slides over the pin to push the lock tabs in so the pin can be pushed out of the plug.
As daimlerman said, try some contact cleaner first.

So the tool fits from the cable side of the plug/socket?bss325i wrote:

I've tried cleaning the pins and didn't help, so I've ordered an extraction kit off ebay (£1.99), various sizes ranging 0.8mm to 2.0mm. They slide over the non cabled end allowing the tabs to be pushed flat and connector pulled out.
