i installed a set of these ages ago.

they've worked perfect for about 6 month. now out of the blue they have started to flicker on and off even when the headlight pull switch is all the way in, and the car is turned off. they stayed on all last night and killed my Battery. the thing i find strange is that the tail lights and the instrument lights dont come on at all unless i pull the switch out. then everything works as normal.
also if the lights have flickered on by them selfs and the switch is still in, all i need to to is pull the switch out and then put it back and they go off.
checked all the wires for the lights in the bay and they all seem fine. i took the switch out inside and left it disconnected and they still flickered.
by my reckoning, the switch is fine, the light units are fine, and the wires in the bay are ok, so must be in the dash somewhere.
anyone had this problem before? even with normal e30 lights, not aftermarket ones?
thanks in advance.
Lights wont go off.

Do the headlamps come on by themselves, or just the angel eye 'halo' rings?
The advert seems to state they just contain standard halogen bulbs, so no fancy electronic HID unit to go wrong...
I would suggest changing the headlamps relay.

It's just the halo rings that flicker. Nothing to do with the dipped beam. As for the wiring in the halos, there isn't much too it. They have their own separate relay and power source. They are only triggered by the original running light plug. They don't draw their power from the the original loom.
What relay were u taking about changing speedtouch? The original one? Do u know where it is? Lol.

Relays K3 and K4 are for the headlamps.
If it's just the halo rings that are flickering, the separate relay is the prime suspect - it sounds as though it's sticking partially on.

This! Cheap and nasty Chinese relay, I expect.Speedtouch wrote: the separate relay is the prime suspect - it sounds as though it's sticking partially on.
