I had to ask myself that question, as I don't ever have 500 quid spare, I always go for a higher quote with less excess.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...

Same here. I've been getting quotes for my 325i Sport and am getting around £150-£170 FC with a £200 compulsory excess, £0 voluntary excess. I'd rather pay an extra £30-£50 upfront than get lumbered with a £700 excess if the worst happens.Jesus325iTouring wrote:I had to ask myself that question, as I don't ever have 500 quid spare, I always go for a higher quote with less excess.

although there are so many variables, threads like this, more so with no mention of what car, spec, condition, value? /agreed value ? , are daft really, almost as daft as a £500 excess

My better bit did the research and with a clean start with £150 excess and 3000 a year it came in (fully comp) at £101.64. Lancaster.
