is the bolt pattern size the same on a 318 e36 as an e36 m3,
a freind of mine is breaking a 318 e36 and i need the front connection were it bolts to the gearbox for my s50 conversion to have my prop made[using six speed box]

No. The M3 uses a bigger guibo coupling with a bigger bolt pattern.
