The price may be cheap, but is the quality any good? Cheap, thin chrome plate is usually garbage, and the rust will show through again within days/weeks.

Its all about the prep and process, regardless of how much your paying you need to investigate the work of the place churning out the plating. I know people that have paid up to £500 for bumpers and the plating has peeled off after 6 months.

Chrome plating is always expensive. Trouble is, even more so than with paint what's underneath comes through in the chrome. Whatever you plate needs to be prepped within an inch of its life.

I got his info off my dads friend who builds motor bike trailers he gets a lot chromed and zinc plated, he says his work is very good. Also said he does a lot of work for people with show truck cabs one of which I happened too see at the truck racing at brands hatch his work does look good and I've only heard good things so far.

Chrome plating is very hard to get right.
I'd advise against getting your rocker cover done. I've seen it flake off into the engine before.

Wouldn't it be cheaper, easier and better just to paint things chrome...?

I might be interested in getting the e21s front and rear bumpers done but its all dependant on how many shillings he wants and how good it is. If hes cheap I wouldnt expect a mint job but not to peel off after 3 or 4 exposures to a bit of raindje30 wrote:To be honest I don't know I will ask himdiable wrote:Hoe much would your contact charge to do a rear chrome bumper?
