OR if you want i might swap my 35mm rears with you. winkeye

I might take you up on that offer!!

Although what you are saying about some rubber pads on the rear sounds like it might do the job, maybe get them in Poly if I can.

hi that those look low in the back, my car looked like that after i put 40mm drop, it turned out my rear shocks where shagged, so i installed gas riders shocks and the back picked up a bit, much better now. Have u checked the shocks?

Went out today on the country roads and the car felt pretty good.

It is still too low I think I will change the rears to the 35's, Here are some more pics. Also trying to get hold of Sal at the Zone shop anyone have his number as I have lost it. Cheers

oh if your axle bushes are f**ked getting them done will raise the arse about 10mm. They collapse down when they've had it

Need to replace the rear subframe bushes, they are still original. Got quoted some stupid price by BMW! Did you do your yourself? If not where did you get them done.
I also need to be able to take passengers in the back with luggage. I will be doing a few trips to the french alps in the next year, so I was thinking of changing the springs to 35 all round anyway, it seems the best solution to my problem, as I will also be driving in London alot and the 60/40's are too low for London.

One more thing, I am not really that fond of the "low rider look"

Cheers Demlot.... are you still running the cupkit??

I will get hold of Sal on his return, hopefully I can work something out with him.

One major thing I am trying to find out is, what are the spring rates for the 35/35 and 60/40 kit?? Tried to find it on H&R website but can only find a site with American distributors and not H&R itself.

Im running Bilstien inverted dampers with H&R -35 sport springs, the only thing is the back is a touch too high!

Im sure sal will be able to help you out when he gets back.

I thought this was going to be a track mainly car? thats why i said to you that the Cup kit is the best bang for the buck as an all round package.

The spring rates for the front and rear will be different on both kits anyway, if you fit the -35mm on the rear it might be a little soft and thus tail happy, but you can correct this with thicker ARBS but its not the best way to go about it. But for track the -35 sport prings dont lower the car enough TBH, you wont get masses of roll but i would rather use lower/stiffer springs to reduce roll rather than ARBs as you run the risk of turning everything into a live axle.

I see your point, do you have any profile shots of your car?

The car was going to be mainly a track car, but you need to get to the track aswell as driving on it!
I think what I will do first is get some new rear sub frame mounts, see what this does to the car, Hopefully it will raise the rear a bit, then I can see what I think.

I heard from s14.net that the spring rates were not that stiff, although the guy could not be to sure.

Anyway, thanks

Also, I installed the H&R ARB's at the same time as the cup kit.

What I dont like is...... Even with no one in the car I am still getting rubbing of the mtec kit in the front of the rear arches when giving the car a bit of welly, and hitting the exhaust which in turn is hitting gear shifting linkage!
I dont want to have to get a new exhaust and manifold.

This has happened a few times on English and London roads, although I have never been this is something that worrys me about driving it on the Nurburgring at higher speeds!!!
I was also thinking about the ZMCoupe diff cover replacement for the track, as this stick down a bit more surley there could be a chance of grounding it!!

Yeah the Cup kit would not have really stiff springs compaired to what the Coil over crew in the states will be running on a M3 but they are stiffer and lower than lets say -35mm/Mtech springs.

The good thing about the cup kit and most of the H&R springs for the E30 is that the front is stiff but because the spring is progressive the ride is not so harsh.

Like others have said, Elms BMW charged me Ԛ£145 to do the rear subframe bushes and balance two wheels, that includes parts and VAT.

I can give you their number?

Does this also apply to the rear springs or are they just progressive.
That would be great if you could give me the number for where you had your sub mount replaced, where abouts is it as I am in SW London?

cheers

The rears are not proggressive,

Dude the Exhaust is no where near the gear linkages, so it cant be that which is touching.
