Hey chaps.
I am replacing both the doors on my E30. Anyone got a guide on how to swap over the locks & key barrels?
Cheers,
Al

Remove the door card
Using a large,flat-bladed screwdriver, flick the C clip off the back of the lock barrel.
Wriggle the barrel out from the outside of the door.
Latch un-scews from the door jamb, but will need the rear.lower glass guide swinging forward, one small bolt at the lower end,to remove from the door.
Iff you are swapping doors,BTW,just un-plug the harness in the a pillar, seperate the door limit strap thingy, then remove the central 8mm bolt from the hinge. The door will not fall off,it will then lift off a stub pin on the lower hinge.
Try to resist the urge to un-bolt the hinge plates from either the door or the A pillar,as the replacement doors will just drop on the lower hinge and fit perfectly.

There are photo guides in the Wiki to access the locks:

You can also disassemble your existing locks and potentially rebuild them to match your key, if you have the right bits:
