Cheers guys! I wanted to do an oil change today, and replace the PAS reservoir as i've bought a new one to replace the leaky one, but the weather here is a wonderful mix of strong wind and rain. Few more suspension bits on the way, have new lollipop bushes & brackets ordered, and new front ARB bushes. Bit by bit.. ;)

Ok, been a while without updates, work was crazy over Christmas & New Years, and i've been away for two long weekends playing shows since NYE. But i'm back on it now..

First up, she'd developed an airlock in the coolant - took some 90 minutes to tease out, but ever since all has been well, and she is running even better. At first we'd thought it might be the thermostat, so changed it for new (went from 88 degree to 80 degree too). No overheating drama, as i caught the coolant blockage before it happened fully - luckily was being super vigilant waiting for the heater to blow hot on a cold drive! Anyway, running like a dream now - all good. I think maybe it just wasn't fully bled, and maybe a few little bits of air all finally converged at the water pump.
My old man even treated her to a clean and polish whilst she was over at their house, bless him..






In the meantime, i've been ordering the rest of the parts for rebuilding the front suspension, and started tackling the airbox, so i can finally get her on the dyno. Chopped off the wierd long triangular plastic bit and "welded" the end back in the hole flush with a soldering iron, removed the front air feed as it's a different shape the the round e30 feed, but it's still a bit of a packaging nightmare. Going to look for a nice airboot, a bit like danthe's, as it should lose me that inch i need back to fit it in...



Also needs a large dab of back-to-black, ha! K&N back in place for now.

i cut a hole out of the headlight backing cover to get the airbox to fit.Took a couple of trimmings but sits nicely now .

Cheers mate! I actually bought them still new from a zoner, who happened to have bought the exact set up i wanted, but sold his e30 before fitting.
I've tried to get hold of Keri since though, emailed him on Boxing day i think, and have had no reply.. Is he still trading i wonder? :/

Standard E30 325 Propshaft matey - Danthe did my exhaust manifolds, and Infinity did the downpipes onwards

depends on what gearbox you are using, and the manifold is easy if you know a good garage.

Not knocking dans work but i seen his work from some one that got them from him and the manifold was good but the flanges (not even flanges just a welded straight pipe, clamps combo) were pointing to the floor. Mods had to be done for it too fit, it was way off

cutting a 15 ish decree cut and bending it at number 6 and welding it doesn't justify the cost of just cleaning the rest and making it shiny

it was way off and the person had the M20b25 exhaust aswell so should of fit like a glove

Guys, let's not turn this into another one of THOSE threads, this is my build thread! ;) Rich, everything Dan has done for me has been spot on - his exhaust manifolds are excellent, and I'd much rather have done what i did, by paying Dan for that and Infinity to build my beautiful custom stainless system than mess around cutting, bending and welding pipes myself, which would have looked crap anyway. If you've had issues, contact the man himself - To be honest, I've seen build after build on here with praise for dan's work.

RE rolling road - I'm currently awaiting a samco silicon elbow, once that arrives and the airbox is in, it will be time! If anyone can recommend a good accurate rollers around Bristol I'd be all ears. I know Fritz have one, which is pretty close to me

Got around to changing the PAS Reservoir this afternoon - Seems the old one was leaking from the seam, not the lid or bottom like we thought. Also had it's oil change at the same time, finally - Mobil 1 now doing it's thing. Hoping to get the front struts off next week. Progress!

The constant rain stopped play quite a bit, managed to do the front drop links before getting soaked, and have been busy since the nice weather hit - Hopefully get to crack on plenty next week now! Considering having a proper remap whilst up getting dyno'd too - Need to give Circuit Motors a ring once i have a boot eta

RIGHT! Time for a long, LONG overdue update! Life got in the way, driving got in the way, etc etc.

SO back in march the ICV hose split - Running the M52 w/ M50 inlet conbination seems to put a little strain on it, so we fab'd up a slightly adjustable one, so that once the Samco elbow was fitted it could be adjusted to fit that too. Whilst the new hoses were on order, i already had replacement suspension parts so thought i'd get stuck into that - chassis rail lollipop bolt sheared. SO, as we were working on the car on days off, the tyres needed replacing so i bought a set of Toyo Proxes and sent my tatty 15" BBS off for a refurb.

Problem? The refurb chap hadn't paid his unit rent - and the landlord impounded everything in his unit! Including my wheels. Meant we could take a bit longer over the suspension, but the car was on ramps for nearly 4 months! I finally got my wheels back as the guy's landlord realised we were genuine and a pal of mine said the business next door to his Kwik Fit MOT station could give them a quick refurb for £120 all in as a favour to my friend.. By that point i was done so went for it. Blast and powder coat, sorted. Though the idiotic blaster blasted the middle plastic parts of the center caps too so they are wrecked!

Anyway, all woes aside, progress has been getting made....

Whilst she was up in the air we changed the rear beam bushes too - Standard Lemforder OEM ones but with plastic spacers inserted too. Rust free inside the bush bores, and treated the rear beam to a coat of paint too. Did them in situ... we fabbed up this tool..




Much better, as the old ones were shot!

Spring seats... You get the idea. EVERYTHING! I even sprayed up the APEX 30mm drop springs. We realised, after checking the code, that they were 4-pot, not 6-pot 30mm drop springs. We fitted them for now, with a view to fitting H&R whilst she is laid up over winter. Treated the Front ARB and dust covers to a wire brush a lick of paint too. More DIY solutions...

WMS still to fit as other things required attention so still on it's standard iS/325 brakes - Will go on over winter along with the new springs.
Also planned are:
2 refurbed trailing arms
New trailing arm bushes
New rear arb bushes (poly)
Refurb rear arb.
FIT SAMCO HOSE!!! Holding off on a remap/rolling road as on the hunt for some S52 cams, so can do the whole load in one go. Apologies to everyone wanting a power/torque figure!!

And then winter fun of:
* Body work - fit the new wings, new front valance, (finally) iS Splitter, new rear valance, tidy up sills and any bubbles, and full respray! (Same colours). Also considering one of those LWS carbon fibre full replica bonnets too, a 20KG saving up front would be rather lovely.
* New (crack free) dash
* Get rid of remnants of old alarm
* Fit new alarm!
* About 700 other jobs that need doing / are yet to be discovered! I know it's a bit of a naff update, more to come!
