Is there anything in the wiki about this? I did try and have a look but couldnt find anything.
Any help from anyone would be great. Basiclly, just went to use the washer jet on the tailgate of my touring, first time i have used it since i have had the car, and instead of water running down the rear window, i had a puddle on my load cover. I have taken off the plastic hinge cover thing and there is a pipe just sitting there not connected to anything. But im struggling to see where its meant to be connected to, and also where the water is meant to come out from on the outside of the car??
Touring tailgate washer jet. Help please!

Sounds like the hose has split then.
The Washer fluid reservoir is in the left side cubby hole, between the bumper and wheel arch. To get the fluid to the washer jet, there's a hose all the way up the rear pillar (under the pillar trim), under the headlining, through the plastic cover over the tailgate hinge, and back into the tailgate itself to the wiper motor.
The continuous opening and closing of the tailgate often wears out the hose after twenty years, causing it to split. So you need to find the two ends and repair it with a bit of brake pipe (pikey bodge) or replace the entire hose from tank to motor.

The motor has a metal tube going through it, this attaches to the wiper arm and jet clip. Sometimes the metal tube can become blocked, this can cause leaks at the connection points.

Headliner doesn't need to come out to change the pipe - just the rear left pillar trim and the tailgate trim. Just pulling off the rubber hatch seal allows you to get to the pipe above the headlining.
Tightarse way of dealing with the pipe is to remove it completely, repair the broken bit with a joiner, then refit it back to front from the way it was. This will present fresh, unworn pipe at the hinge, and place the joiner half way up the pillar.
