Got a e30 here with a m52
building up a hell of alot of pressure
any ideas?
Bled the system a few times,not overheating at all

seems like that time of year everyones having cooling problems or leaks.

when did it start i.e had you drained it then filled as they are a pig to bleed up correctly and end up cracking expansion chambers if not watched over when bleeding

At 2 bar, the hoses should be 'rock solid' - 30 lbs pressure for every square inch of hose area.
If the PRV in the coolant bottle cap isn't blowing off, then there's no problem, unless the cap is faulty.

if its leaking from there it most likely didn't get bled correctly in the first place, did this with the first m5x engine i bled and cracked the expansion tank oops.
get a new expansion tank on it and bleed it up and you should be all good assuming theres no other issues with the cooling system.
