Well it`s been a while since my last e30(touring) so my new aquisition could not of come sooner. Plans are to just get her up and running and sort the roof out. There is a tear above the rear window and a hole the size of a pea in the roof. The roof does not work on the button so that will be one of my big projects as soon as the weather brightens up.

Here are some pics for ya`ll

Hi there, not much done so far, christmas has drained my pockets and the weather has been kaak. So with the first rays of sunshine of 2014 I decided to clean the roof/ragtop. Was really moaldy and dirty. Bought some turtle wax treatment from Halfrauds, seems to be good but time will tell if the repellent is cut out for the job.

Here are some before pics

Mid clean...clouds were building up so started rushing it a bit...

And finally finished...not perfect but much better

I then removed the cross spoke alloys and threw on £80 ebay jobbies that came with decent tyres. Wont be driving the car so not bothered about the council look at the moment.

Then decided to strip boot trim to see how bad exactly the hole in the wheel well was......

Is there anyone on here that can weld up or recommend a welder to weld up the tea strainer for me? Apart from that my next plan is to start accumulating the required parts for the m30 swap, have put up the cross spokes alloys for sale to help fund it.

Until the next episode

Not much done since last update, roof has been letting in a bit of water so while it was dry got the hair dryers out and began blowing!! Image

But the carpet/sound proofing was absolutely soaked.....so I removed the carpet and threw it away...it was absolutely soaked and rotten. Suprisingly the sills are in decent condition

Image.

So at the moment Im rolling with no sound deadening...just floor mats lol. Will wait till summer and fit a replacement carpet.

On the other hand...I bought some decent wheels.....

Have not fitte them yet, been too busy with work...trying to earn some dosh to purchase a hardtop.

Update soon................

Still no work done due to shite weather, but anyone know where I can get the wheel wells in the boot welded up? I`m near Guildford and Camberley but willing to travel a bit.

Cheers

so with a break in the weather and pay day been and gone I decided to tackle the manual conversion for the roof. Thanks to Pacerpete for supplying the needed parts and a highly illustrated instructional guide, cheers chap :thumb:

Was quite straight forward actually just fidgity, lost some skin on a knuckle or two.

Also fitted my `pina reps which I got off the zone too so quite chuffed.

Have some pics....could not get kids away from the car!!

And my Rugby colours being shown....

So, not a perfect example but she`s mine and love the challenges thrown at me!!

Parts left to fit are H&R lowering springs, boot spoiler and tech 1 steering wheel. Have bought a new oil filler cap, exelerator pedal and waiting on a reply from a zoner about leather gearknob and gaiter.

Until the next episode....

Those wheels really set it off. Have a similar spec car but interior is very poor so I imagine I will be doing the same as you and replacing the carpet. Did you buy a new or a second hand carpet?
