One of my handbrake shoe retaining pins has finally come adrift, seemingly because my DIY washers have had enough after six years or so. I still don't want to replace the entire backplate, and would like to know anyone has had success with alternative fixes.
First option is a 'hold down washer' from another kit, such as: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAKE-SHOE-HO ... 1106051292
or another from: http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/brake-shoe-ho ... _500wt_716
And another seemingly straightforward option would be to just use a nut/bolt/washer arrangement instead.

I'm sure that wasn't there last time I looked... either way it's brilliant and shows exactly what I want to do. Thanks both.Grrrmachine wrote:Ahem:
