316 carb to m52b28 - single fuel line

What is the easiest way to get a second fuel line in for the m52b28 engine in a 1986 chromie 316 coupe? What extra/new bit's will I need? Pump? Tank?

You need a tank ideally from a 325i or any touring which has the double senders and the in tank pump with the swirl pot.

Then just buy the fuel lines new from BMW

Ok, I'll start looking out for one.

My original intention was to trial fit the m52 engine in without the gearbox, get it connected up and make sure it all fired up before stripping down and cleaning any further. Would I be able to feed the m52 fuel rail with the single fuel line I have and just put a return pipe on the fuel rail and drain the return excess petrol into a bucket?

Your tank is more than likely useless anyway, so it will need changing before you drive anywhere, most fitted to carb engined cars did not have an in tank pot for the pump to sit in, so you will get fuel starvation on every bend
