Just wondering whether a full exhaust system and manifold for a 318i will fit a 318iS?
Not sure if the manifold will match but how bout the exhaust?
Cheers!

exhaust i think fits, but 318iS has a stainless steel 4 branch manifold as standard so why do u want the wanky log sh!te from a 318i?!

i dont htink they do fit
the 318is manifold was a very free flowing design iv heard advice not to change it
as for the 318i backbox and midbox, they are completely different from what iv seen!

Reason I ask is because a mate was offering to sell his exhaust and manifold for a 318i. I wasn't interested because I'm plannin on turning my 318i into something a bit more special at some point so I wasn't gonna bother with any more engine mods. On the other hand due to the fact that I may not being be doing a transplant for a while I wouldn't mind something to give me a bit more go power in the mean time (plus the chavtastic backbox I have on at the moment is doing my head in - going bwwarrrrrrr at 10mph!) But if the manifold or exhaust could fit an iS then if I did buy it then I could always sell it to someone with a 318iS when it comes to swapping my engine. Why not sell to someone who ownes a standard 318i you may ask? - well I cant imagine that there are too many people looking to seriously enhance their 318i engine?? So I may only get peanuts back for it if anything which isn't really worth it for the sake of a quick fix to last me till the transplant. Get what I mean?

i think the main concensus from most people on here would be to leave you 318i and save for something a bit more powerful from standard, or youl just be throwing your money away imo
what u got lined up then an IS?
im pretty sure the exhaust wont fit mate but you could always try!

Can't afford to buy and insure a new car at the moment, if I could then I'd be in 325i world. However I can afford to gradually fix up my 318i, ready for a transplant i.e. bodywork, interior, electrics etc. So that when I get a significant amount of cash in (hopefully gonna get a decent job soon) I can then go ahead and do the transplant or atleast buy the parts and have them ready for the transplant.
Why not just save up, sell the 318i and buy a 325i sport or something? - I'll just end up spending what spare cash I have on crap instead plus I've already spent so much time and money on the 318i that I've got to see the project through!

It won't fit, not without LOADS of work.Kos wrote:it will fit with a bit of work, but never bolt straight on!
It's the wrong diameter, wrong length, and chances are the stud pattern is different between the M40 / M42 heads.
Don't bother with it.

it will never bolt to the manifold but you can join it to the down pipes. powerflow can knock up the correct section for you and fit it for a reasonable sum

the manifold wont, but the rest will. and if he put in the is engine he will need to mess around with the system anyway.

Just a quick heads up. More than likely I'll be going for an uprated/tuned 325 engine. A 3.5 would be
but I'd like to have the car done sooner rather than later and so I think a 2.5 would be a more practical solution. We'll see tho...
