I have a similar situation with my red 2-door - not a cab admittedly. Mine has the bmw mud flaps, but not in great shape. Respraying next year, dont know whether to hunt another set out. They ARE kinda gross, but i have grown a little attached to them!!

I like them on facelift cars, buy new ones from BMW with fitting kit and keep clean underneath then there's no issues and they do a job and look good

Keep them on but keep them and the surrounding bodywork clean with the salty roads out now.(Thats if your cabby isnt in the garage all tucked up).

Hideous crap, only ever bought by oaps back in the day.
Quite why some people see them as attractive period accessories is a complete mystery

They were often bought with new cars back in the 80's, as it gave the car the "fully optioned" look. Sunroof deflectors were bought for the same reason. Over the years those hammered on clips that they came with gave an early start for arch rust, and are the very reason to get rid of them asap today, if the car has survived of course.
Selection of BMW hardtops available, please ask!

keeps the side of your car clean, especially the fronts ones, one of my front mud flaps is not fitted at the moment and that side gets so much more crap down the side

A dirty car with no flaps looks about a million times better than a clean one with dangly flaps.
