does my gearbox have an ecu? does my ecu have anything to do with the gearbox? this fault has got to be caused by something else the gearbox doesn't slip it changes gear as it should, its just when cold it takes a lot of revs to change, then once changed it`s fine or when warm it`s fine,I don`t want the hasttle etc of changing the g`box when I`m sure it`s adjustment or a faulty ecu it`s only a 320i so not sure

I stand under correction, but i believe it does.Whic box do you have? Switchable or non Switchable?
Have you checked your Gearbox's oil level? This is a serviceable part, it could just need some fresh oil.

I believe it is non switcheable, I have just changed the fluid and strainer, the haines manual say`s to check the level with gbox in park (after moving through the `box) is this correct? I have an American auto which tells you to check the level in drive.I know they are totally different but just want to check everything, like would anything connected to it or the engine have an affect after changing the fluid etc it is better, from cold a few minuites running selecting d and r a few times it changes gear as it should

It seems to be temperature orientated only does it when cold, not when warmed up
