Alright lads, just curious to see how much my car is worth.. don't think im as mechanically capable as i should be to warrant an old car :( Sorry if this is in the wrong section.. think i saw a similar thread here before!

1986 316 in carmine red

10 months mot - no advisories and 10 months tax

110k miles

Lowered 40mm

16'' Borbet A wheels and brand new tyres, 3 wheels immaculate, 1 slight kerbing

Rust - The car is seriously clean considering its 27 years old.. the rear passenger arch has started to bubble but thats it!

No idea how much i should be asking? with and without the wheels!

very presentable 2 door non-sunroof chromie - very nice indeed

had to say as selling prices have been quite low recently, maybe its getting towards xmas

But a great well writtian advert with lots of good pictures somewhere like Pistonheads will maximise your selling price

I'd say the wheels are worth more than the car...

If its really as clean as you say I could see this hovering around the 2k mark on a good day if your willing to wait a bit

Put it back to as standard possible, ideally on original BBS. my logic is that a Stance cock Trevor will still buy a standard car to molest but OEM Pete and his bag of sweets will avoid something they know was once touched by an undesirable, they see it as tarnished.

Basically, a standard car appeals to both Mr Stance and Mr OEM whereas an altered E30 will only appeal to Mr Stance

Don't get disheartened J,

A few misfires and a tough parts hunt is part of the charm of owning these oldies.

You will get your carb and sundry stuff, most of the things on 316 is in good shape.

You will regret exchanging this (for a reliable Toyota  ) when the answer to your niggling issues is some garage or mechanically inclined mate who can spend a weekend to sort the engine trouble once for all.

This is typical of an E30 that has been neglected. The high quality of the design and engineering is both the cars strong point and its weak point.
Things will go on and on for years after they should have been serviced, until they finally cry enough, but once each failure is sorted PROPERLY, it will go on again for another decade or so without giving trouble again.
As examples, there are loads of threads on here regarding heater fans and door locking mechanisms failing. If either of these are treated to some simple preventative maintenence, they will go on for ever.
The E30 is by far and away the most reliable and trouble free car I have ever owned, especially compared to more modern stuff.

Beautiful car, I'd keep hold if it were mine! If you do sell I hope you offer it on here first.
