Im not sure if mine is knacked, has anyone got any info on this part,ie part number, picture, how to change it,and what symptoms you will have if it is faulty.I think I may have an air leak and i'm wondering if this the culprit. This not my car,but I have the same fault,

Part number,no idea, but there's two linked parts sites stick'd at the top of this page.
To swap, pull off and push the replacement on.
If un-metered air is entering the inlet after the AFM,it will confuse the engine ECU and cause poor running.
Youth is wasted on the young.

It's a little inaccessible on a M20. Easiest way is to remove the throttle body from the inlet manifold, turn it upside down, and you will find (usually the tattered remains of) it, very close to the throttle position switch.
Check the TPS 'while you're in there'.
Part # is 11 61 1 727 176 (I think).
