My E30 has an M52 engine & box in it, and also a 4.something diff from either a 316 or 318 which is frankly a bit mental! I've got a 3.64 medium case going in tomorrow evening but I also want to change the tyre profile. I've got 16" wheels on it at the moment, what look to be 8J front and 9J rear. The tyre sizes are currently 195/40/16 front and 215/40/16 rear. Too much stretch and too many lows for my liking, looks like it was built by someone going for maximum scene points. So I'm winding the coilovers up a touch and fitting the new diff tomorrow - I've got some tyres at work too that I could change to.

Am I going to have problems with 225/45/16 on the back and 205/50/16 on the front? Does this sound like a good tyre size to use? I know the increased rolling radius will affect my speedo reading but it already over-reads a bit so this should get it closer to being right, and will make my overall gearing a touch longer which to me is a good thing as the car is used daily.

Out of curiosity, the car in your avatar isn't from Mansfield is it?
