Probably 20% of E30s in the UK, so 1 in 5. That's a guess.mark_gpz wrote:Any E30 is rare where I live, mainly corsa's.. uh cringe....
On a scale of 10 how rare is a chromie?

Would have thought Theo's Hartge M3 is probably one of the rarest.

I think if you were to be looking for a balance of rarity and speed/handling, I would agree but in terms of rarity, I'd say it's Ian's H27 cab.oldroydsr4 wrote:Would have thought Theo's Hartge M3 is probably one of the rarest.
Theo's would win best and rarest combo. Think it's still a pile of parts though.

Unfortunately being re shell and not retaining its original VIN devalues its pedigree. If I'm correct as well his was not one of the 6 original factory built cars.Topblag wrote:I think if you were to be looking for a balance of rarity and speed/handling, I would agree but in terms of rarity, I'd say it's Ian's H27 cab.oldroydsr4 wrote:Would have thought Theo's Hartge M3 is probably one of the rarest.

The one below is a regular attendee at gaydon and it was there this year

It is a original H36 which belongs to a good friend of mine and it's the last of the 6 factory cars built and has a hartge VIN no. I know of 2 others, One is in Germany and the other was in the UK but it was bastardised

The C2 2.7 saw that no other B6 2.8's were sold in the UK.

LOVE IT !!!
I don't think it's on the zone(?) but it could do with being....1992 registered C2 2.7 Alpina cab, in Calypso red/Lotus white based on an original 4th edition Motorsport,is up there with the other candidates.
Nice thing,or at least,it could be imho

Cracking car.
Surely the M3 based H35-24 is both rarer and quicker ?
I wonder if this Alpina is lighter than my H35, power output is the same.

I had a feeling an H35 (unmolested) was quoted at 240bhp and I have no idea of production numbers. The Alpina B6 3.5s was quoted at 254 with cat, 260 without (mine), so the Alpina should be quicker than an H35, but not as quick as the H35-24s which I think was quoted around 330bhp and with only 6 genuine cars produced, would indeed be rarer. Then again, having one of only 62 made worldwide, I'm happy to be in a fairly small minority

Output varied a bit across them I believe, which makes sense as all H35s have build differences, as that seemed to be their way. My rebuilt engine, with h35 stock bits is quoted at 260bhp from a very reputable engine builder. That isn’t a fact I can evidence.
Production is considered to be 15-20 of the standard body H35, with the only evidence being that we've found about 10 so far across the world.
I'd rather have your car though !
