Anyone done this before? I can't find a wiki on it, and I'd like to do it.
I'm guessing I need a loom, the two switches, and heating elements (or seats with them built in)..
Is there a guide anywhere?
Thanks

I have black leather sports seats (4 door) heated that I may be selling soon with loom and switches.
Will need to take some photos first

What is it you trying to fit them too? (Seats, obviously, but what type?)

Ah damn my seats are grey.. The loom and switches may be ideal. I'm guessing then I only need the heater pads that go under the seats?

There's a company called Waeco that make a kit for retro-fitting.
I have used this on my cab, with leather sports seats.
Could be a bit cheaper than finding the real McCoy ...

Hello!
I did this a while ago. It's amazing we'll worth doing!
Here's a link to my thread.

You're a legend. This is exactly what I'm after. Did you follow the seat repair wiki to take apart the seats?

No I just tackled it as I came to it, their construction is very simple really. I had a mate to help me, some bits can be hard to get back together from memory
but if there is a seat repair guide I guess follow that!

Hi Laith
I have just done mine and it wasn't a problem. I purchased the OEM direct from BMW (64 11 9 061 223) and managed to get a discount so it was 236 for the complete kit. They also printed out the installation instructions for me which I still have - if you need me to send a copy just let me know.
The install was quite straight forward and there are walk throughs if you google I didnt take any pics sorry. The main loom just plugs straight into the accessory block behind the GBox and runs down the left side & under the seats. Centre handbrake trim needs to come off and be cut for the switches. With the seats I stripped one down and took out the bottom panel but to be honest you dont really need to - the pads will slide in without needing to strip the seat completely.
Give me a shout if I can help
Good luck

I'd be interested in the instructions. Could you scan them so that they can go in the wiki?Althoros wrote:Hi Laith

Great idea, I think many would benefit.
Just got quoted £241 for the kit. Best keep searching..
