Bigger brakes, huge choice of oe bmw wheels, massive choice of suspension and coilover setups by movin away from the one piece strut design.

For a normal road car I doubt I'd bother converting because it seems like a pain in the arse.
cheers,

Since going 5 stud i can say that the handling and grip on my turd have improved massively, and cannot be compared to my old setup.

just asking cause i've removed all the sensors in mine, along with the wiring off the pump, etc, but the pump still remains.

Yes i had no reason to get rid of the abs, it works fine. Soon to be replaced for a more modern setup though!

E30 M3 or E36 stuff, 2 different ways. M3 keeps the ABS on mine.

Mine is a combination of E36 And E30 M3 and my abs works fine, seems to be a lot of myths surrounding this.

Better coilovers when you go 5 stud with e36 stuff. 4 stud coilovers are shite, either weld the hub on yourself, or they do it for you for serious rape money. 5 stud all the way for a far better handling e30.

Using E30 M3 5 stud set up gives better front anti roll bar drop link location which improves handling.

It also uses a bigger front wheel bearing and as meantioned, bigger brakes.

And I'm pretty sure castor and KPI are different to normal 4 stud E30 hubs as well which again improve handling.

Using E36 parts is allways a compromise and certainly not some tosh up of parts to get big rimz and cheap coiloverzzz on.

+1..!
I purchased and offered up all combinations, and finally settled for E30 M3 up front ( better geometry etc) and a Z3M rear end (bigger hub/bearing/half shaft/ brakes etc) bit of a tart but hey im happy :D ..!

I did it for the brakes and extra track, mainly. Plus I had a set of Koni coilovers for an e36 compact and e30 m3 powerflex bushes knocking about. It was only an extra 500 quid or so for the m3 arms and hubs, e36 rear arms and brand new e36 m3 calipers, discs and pads. It drives well, very pointy and kart like. Lots of grip. Epic braking. But I have made so many other changes I can't apportion how much of that is down to the 5 stud conversion alone. Plus if not using coilovers and adjustable top mounts, lack of static camber could be an issue. So perhaps it is of most benefit to a track/race car.

5 stud conversion was great for me, alot cheaper then the equivalent set up on a 4 x 100.
My parts including rear must have totaled only around £300, not including coilovers though
