thinking of going 7.5x16 up front and 9x16 on the rear?

I dont have my car lowered at the mo but was wondering how low i could go before i start scrubbing the floor when i have a full load as i am always the designated driver seeing as i dont drink

yes they will fit with right tyres and correct offset. 7.5 et20 and 9" et15, will work as i run this setup. on 215/40/16 tyres.

i have a set of those wheels in the same sizes ready to go on my iS when i lower it. The fronts look odd with standard ride height but once the car is lowered they should look good.

if your a Des i wouldn't lower it at all! or maybe m-tech -20mm springs, or 35mm at a push.

Theres wide wheels and then there is a bit silly and 9j on the back is a bit ott, imo of course. your economy will dip with 9js on the back too

Yup,thats 100 % true unless you know the MoT tester or just put some other wheels on for the MoT.The plod may still give you some stick though

They look wider than the arch in the photoshop but they sit in line with the arch when fitted. The rears have a stretch so the arch doesn't foul the tyres.
I've been told about the MOT failure if the rims are wider than the arch but some garages don't seem to make a fuss about it. I know of people that have got the MOT done with the rims about an inch wider than the arch on their veedubs. Strange.

If you dont want the "german-look" you can have them in a higher ET. The 9x16 ET30 for example...

what is this et stuff? is that how far it sits in the arches? i.e how close it is to the suspension?

Ive 9's on the rear. Car is lowered, dont know exactly by how much as it was think way when I bought it. At a rough guess I'd say 30-35ish on koni shocks... but thats pure guess work. Afaik its running standard Mtec springs and with 3 in the back it rubbed..... badly. Thank god I was going no longer than a few 100 metres.
