After some help and advice please

Had a knocking noise coming from the rear and I've had it looked at and apparently the bushes that join the rear axle to the chassis are shagged.

What I need to know is the correct name for them and where is best to get them, mechanic said to get poly bushes but would oem be better?

I know its not an easy job but what sort of price is normal to change them as when I asked him a price he looked like I'd just punched his mum in the face and wouldn't even give me a price there and then

Any help apprieciated

OE rubber mounts every time! Leave the poly bushes to the Saxo/Corsa brigade.
Fitting rear beam bushes is easy enough, with a tool improvised from some threaded bar and large washers, ect., along with a SUITABLE lubricant. It's getting all traces of the old ones oout that can be fun.

As above, just make sure you buy Lemforder brand, if you want them to last forever then I have a few sets of these left over - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=240696

Last time I paid to have rear beam bushes fitted it cost in the region of £120.
But that was several E30's/years back!

It's not a pleasant DIY job,but it can be done.Taking the bare beam and a pair of bushes to your local garage and slipping the mechanic a £10 note will get the new bushes pressed in.
Youth is wasted on the young.
