e30 330 m54 conversion info wanted please

hi folks im lookin for all info needed to install this m54 lump i have a chance of, no gearbox as its an auto but i need to no what mounts to use an what servo to make it all fit sweet, all info appreciated.

The real difficulty comes with the electrics i would think. A few have done it, but no one seems to have revealed exactly how they've got the wiring done etc.

There are a few offering ECU mods to fit these engines, but they are not cheap and you are still left with a more strangled engine than the M52

A NEED A REALLY SWEET LUMP IN MA WEE CAR AS AM SICK DOIN THE TAPPETS AN KINDA FANCY A 24V CONVERSION BUT ALL IN ALL A WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY WITH A A1 M20 RECON/REFURB?? MINES HAS A FEW MILE ON THE ENGINE AM USING AN THE TOP END HAS QUITE A BIT AE WEAR IN ER
SO WHAT YOU'S RECKON??

M54 is harder to install but i do like the fact its lighter

If you fancy 24v bung an m52 in and be done with it.
Decent m20's are getting thin on the ground (saying that, so are m52's).

I still have the urge to one day build a hot m20,
2.6 over bore with high comp low friction pistons
knife edge lightened crank and light flywheel
big valve head and spikey cam
Large TB (maybe ITB's) and a BTB manifold
Run it on a proper management system
It will probably cost the same as dropping in an s50 but I think it would be more fun with a tunes m20

take a look at this, this guys knows A LOT about the m54 swap. both with OBD1 and with megasquirt.

engine mounts from e36 m50/52,oil pan from e34 m50.
