Ok guys can you give me some info on the removal of the vinyl on a hardtop and the steps and products required to strip it back as I want to get a idea on cost and how much work is involved in getting it colour coded thanks ..

A highly respected zoner who ran his own bodyshop did this for another zoner.
He commented;
'Never,ever again'
When the vinyl is removed,it tends to take the gel coat with it,added to the need to flat the hardtop,as the vinyl tends to hide the ripples in the fibreglass moulding...

You would be cheaper selling your vinyl hardtop and buying a weisman hardtop and having it repainted to match your car.

Know exactly what you mean, but you see many colour coded genuine hardtops, surely can't be that difficult to do?, ask Dips on here he has done a few.faze30 wrote:the weissman hardtops looks sh*t. they look too bubbly and dont suit the car

The other big issue with the Weissman is that the seals are no longer available - I tried and weissman couldn't even tell me what car they were from or if they were bespoke.

best to take the hardtop to a professional. and let them do that hardwork. It wont be cheap. but they will get it done

Try dips346, he has done a few IIRC and can tell you how much he charges or what kind of costs are involved.
I think you'll be looking at £500+
