HI GUYS, I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A 325i TOURING 1989.
IVE NOT GOT THE CAR HOME YET BUT IT HAS BEEN STOOD FOR 14.5 YEARS AN ONLY COVERED 64,000 :D.
SHOULD I BE PUTING ANYTHING DOWN THE BORES TO FREE UP PISTON RINGS?? SHOULD I PUT CAM KIT ON BEFORE EVEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN OVER???? OR SHOULD I TRY FIRING IT UP AND GO FROM THERE?????.
ALSO THE CAR IS FULL OF MOSS, IS THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL I SHOULD BE BLASTING IT WITH???

ALL REPLIES MUCH APPRECIATED.
CHEERS. DUBNATOR.

STOP SHOUTING FIRST!

Chances are all rubber will be damaged / have perished, all fluids will need draining and replacing. Look at the E30 wiki, full of useful advice.

I'd check it works before you spend time on moss :)
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

NO NEED TO SHOUT!

First thing to do would be to take the sparks out and put some oil down each bore by hand. Ten try turning it over with a spanner on the crank. Do not, under any circumstances, try starting the engine via the starter without changing the cam belt first. After nearly 15 years, that rubber will be brittle as hell and WILL snap, and then you'll be looking for a new engine.

Once you've got the engine refreshed, and put new filters on and a fresh battery, then try starting it to blow out the cobwebs. But don't even thing of driving it without checking out all the rubber hoses in the engine bay (esp. the fuel hoses), or the brake pipes (prob. heavily corroded by now) and expect a sticky caliper or two.

Do not spend a single penny on "upgrades", cam kits or whatnot without going over the shell with a fine tooth comb. There WILL be rust, and it will be hidden. Dismantle as much of the interior as you can (seats and carpets) and look for rust everywhere. You may well find the shell is very, very rotten even if it looks nice and shiny outside.

And where are the pics???

I've always loved these cars, it belonged to my milkman when i was a kid, i was 15 when he bought it brand new!!! at the age now where i can afford to run two cars and meet up with others in the summer months, so i guess i've got me a classic that is not gonna be over cooked.
Lowered and wheels in my head so far :D :D

Has it been outside for 14.5 years or garaged?

Also, 17's fit but ruin the ride.

16's are the best bet for an E30.

Or wheels, tints, lowering etc. I would also suggest spending some time checking out some Zone advice / advisors prior to doing anything other than making sure you have a working car. That in itself may take longer than you think.

And E30s run terribly on 17s IMHO :)

Put those dreams on hold for a moment. If this car is as unloved as you say it is, it's going to need thousands spend on it before you start faffing around with coiloverzz and rimzz. I hope you know how to weld.

THIS is what an unloved Touring looks like:

Image

If you've got moss growing inside, then your carpet's wet. If you've got any floorpan left at all, I'd be very surprised. That's why you need to strip this car down as much as you can, to realistically assess how long it'll take to get back on the road.

These are the other rust traps:
