Pin 6 - Green/Yellow
Pin 7 - Green
On my e30 while doing the wiring conversion for M60B40, I found that Pin 7 was not getting an Ignition Live, and so not powering the ECU. Pin 6 is getting an Ignition Live, so I Bridged Pins 6 & 7 which powered the ECU and engine started fine. Is that ok for a permanent fix, or do I need to run an Ignition Live to Pin 7? Any reason why Pin 7 would not be getting an Ignition Live all fuses are fine, and previous engine ran fine aswell?
C101 Socket, Pins 6 & 7?

Not a good idea at all! Unfortunately, electricity doesn't know which way it is supposed to be flowing in a wire, and back feeding like this can result in much larger currents flowing in a particular gauge of wire than it is safe to carry, not to mention bypassing the odd fuse.
The single colour of the wire (no tracer) to pin 7, indicates that this supply is unfused, so you won't get any joy from checking fuses.
The most likely cause of no power to pin 7 is an immobiliser connected in series with the wire somewhere. The intended place for it to be connected is above the glove box area, but alarm installers also have an annoying habit of targeting the wire near the steering column, where the wiring joins by a plug and socket to the ignition switch loom, although this would likely kill the green/yellow supply on 6 as well.

I'll take a look around the loom, see if I can find any reason why its not working.
You could be right about Alarm/Immobiliser, as I have removed this.
Will be installing a new Alarm/Immobiliser unit.

If you've removed an immobiliser without reconnecting together the wires of the circuit(s) it interrupts, then that is your problem.

Thanks for the help, now sorted. They was indeed a plug that went into the alarm/immobiliser, I took the bridge out of Pins 6 & 7 and joined the Green wire together where it would of gone into the alarm. All sorted and working fine.
