More likely because the car doesnt go anywhereRav335uk wrote:I think mne have lasted, as they are enclosed in metal cups.
With the cup being on the underside it wouldnt make any difference, its the top side of the mount thats taken the damage

Must be the torques
I think the heat has caused it as the passenger side mount is fine, im guessing the rubber has got hot and caused it to go soft and sink when i wailed it of the line.
Bigger washer and heat shield may be the key.

Will do...
The ding dong was with an E46 M3 cab, i was sitting at a pedestrian crossing next to it with a couple of asians in it (who thought they were black) they were looking at my car then i saw the driver turn to his mate and say "watch me rinse it"
Anyway the lights went and we were away, i was literally neck and neck with him across the dual carriagway all the way to the island at the other end where he turned off totally blanking me with a serious face, his mate was pissing himself laughing.
Never underestimate an E30.

Its knowing when to change gear thats the key to keep it on that wall of torque, i change up at around 5k.

M30's have all the power low down and start to run out of breath higher in the range.

After a bit of a run in with the Police last week, well i say run in, i flew past them at about 50mph, they were going in the opposite direction and as soon as we crossed i saw there brake lights come on to come after me, my natural instinct was to squeeze the pedal a bit more and try and dissapear.
i got to the top of the hill and spun into a side road to double back on myself and get home, this didnt go to plan, he must of seen where i went, as when i kept looking in the mirror i saw the blue lights bouncing off the houses so i thought i may aswell pull over, he knew i was speeding but didnt know how fast so bit the bullet and waited for him, he pulled behind me got out his car to chat, next thing you know a riot van screeched in front of me and four of them jumped out surrounding the car as if i was gonna kick off! saying to the copper who pulled me "you ok, everything alright?" like i was some nutcase. Then another two cars pulled up so that was 10 police around me!
I was known to the police in the late 90's for various things, but never any trouble with them in say 13 years so my initial reaction was ' WTF'
Finally when i got in the back of the car that pulled me he explained that they took my reg as we crossed and as the car is registered to me all my details shot up which led to them calling for back up, i explained im a good citizen, married, children, own business etc.. then he started sniffing round what my business was.
Anyway, that wasnt the end of it, my MOT had expired.
I had genuinely forgot! i thought it was up the end of June, it was up the end of May!
So £60 fine after i admited it and said id get it done asap, he then said "you better not put no Micky mouse MOT on it"
I had to bite my tongue like you wouldnt believe.
So had to bite the bullet again and take it to a 'so called' reputable garage, so i took it to Kwikfit today.
Flapping like you wouldnt believe while the jobsworth was going over my car thinking there gonna fail it there gonna fail it but low and behold it passed!!!
Only advisory was a little chip on the windscreen!

Relief aint the word!
As for the police i HOPE i bump into them again cos they will get this.

Wow, riot van full of old bill in minutes, not surprising it was for a motoring incident though, chap I know had two meat heads turn up on his door with a sawn-off at 11pm demanding money, his mrs was in the back heard what was happening and phoned the police before they got in the house, the police turned up 45 minutes later....
Some good stories there Lee, I've schooled many a dlckhead with the m30. Problem is they assume old cars are slow leading them to believe their slew of diesel audis and vauxhalls can take you.
I've had dlcks follow me home before today offering me fights after I've schooled them at various sets of traffic lights, they feel humiliated by their mates and they can't accept being had by an old car. They're too thick to realise a 2 litre diesel with 4 people in it isn't going to win many races.

LOL Lee.
I had a meat van chasing me years ago on the A45, but I put my foot down and couldn't see them after a while.
Anyway, got to the "Wheatsheaf" lights as you come into B'ham, and caught in traffic, and who's coming with the Blues and Twos
, The meat van, 2 officers got out, got me to pul over, took me out of the car, and into the van, and inside where another 6 of them
, never got booked though, got a warning as they couldn't prove the speed..

There is no shame in being spanked by a fast ford
This for example is a monster and would catch most completely unaware
I had untold fun in my compact but the truth is there is always some one, or something faster
