Can anyone tell me if the e46 320d has the same bolt pattern bell housing as an m42 engine? I'm pretty sure it does, but want to che check before I buy one.

Thanks, Martin.

Yes they do, but there is 10° difference in the tilt on the box/engine
The main 4 bolts fit fine, its just a couple of the sump bolts that dont line up.

Not a nice job to fit though, there is some info in my chromie thread http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... &start=225

Nice job there, fair do's. So would the e36 6 speed be a bolt in swap? I presume it would as I currently run an e36 5 speed.

Yep it will bolt in, and is the correct angle, they are a more expensive box though, you still need to fabricate a mounting bracket
