No 4 door sport was made.
It would have been possible to create a 4 door 325i with all sport spec.
Also, as has been said, it's possible to change the name by applying to the DVLA.

they never made a 4 door sport or touring. i had the same arguement with this breaker down in keynsham, hes the wanker who breaks fords. hes such a tosser, really is. hes broke a few e30"s in the past, but doesnt know shit.
and you wont be abile to change a car to say sport on the v5 because ive tryed it.

I would imagine some of it may have been fitted at the factory, if not at the dealers.tomson wrote:Would that have been as "factory options" as new Simon?

stevetigger,
this is all just peoples opinions, as ive said i have physically seen a v5 log book for a four door sport.
and i agree with jonb that DVLA would not let you change it to say this, they will allow change of colour/engine etc.
I also agree with jonb that the above mentioned breaker in keynsham doesnt know his arse from his elbow, but he might!!
BUT anything is possible with enough money!! So i may be wrong??!! I may be right??!! We need more opinion!!!

But it has been done though, there's Matt I mentioned above, and there was also another zoner a while back who was looking at a 325i motorsport cab, which was not a motorsport, but it had motorsport on the V5.tomson wrote:

As Jon and Dan say the DVLA fucks up. Because they mis-read a form i have to drive to them for a 'engine swap inspection'. What f*cking engine swap.FFS318-is wrote:the DVLA is a fuck upjonb wrote:ive tryed it once. just for research purposesnot because im a dodgy cunt or anything.

When I had my first sport a gaffer of mine also had a dolphin grey 4 door with all the sport pack including headlining, seats etc.
I never really asked asked if it was a genuine one, just assumed it was. Everydays a school day

Wouldn't a BMW dealer be able to tell whether the car really is a 'sport' by giving them the car reg details?

this always comes up now and again, there are a few 4 doors spec'd as sports but none actually are, i bet all of them at bmw are listed as 325i SE's,
there was talk of a 4door Sport being made in another country but i don't know if that was confirmed or not.
dvla can change the name on the document, i did it for mine because i completely rebuilt the car as a 325i sport. although i would never use that for a bargaining point if i sold the car.
best way to confirm is to go to bmw with the chassis number

So when I put a 2.5 in my 318i, I can change the logbook to say 325i not just 318i with engine size 2494cc
That would make my car worth a bomb!

So you could have bought a 325ise with the full m pack, seats, kit, gearbox, lsd, black headlining, steering wheel & gearknob
and then change your v5 at a later date......
How can you change the v5 from se to sport? There is no section on it to tell dvla this like if you change the engine cc or the colour......
I presume you must have to write them a letter?

I am also right in thinking that not all genuine sports actually have sport writtn on the log book?
If so this makes the log book pretty useless for identifying a car!

also all details are logged with dvla anyway so if changes are made to log book ie name or colour etc it will show on the history check.

I can't see what the big deal is, as a 4 door, sport or not its worth f*ck all as a car , its true value is its value in bits.

Yep, when I bought my Sport it only had '325i' on the log book, so I did check with the dealers to make sure it was a genuine Sport.Kedge wrote:I am also right in thinking that not all genuine sports actually have sport writtn on the log book?
Since Ive had the 'new' style V5 come through its changed to '325 i Sport' all by itself - I never asked for the change
A friend of mine has changed the details of the V5 for her Astra GSi (section D.2 Model/Type) - it did say 'Vauxhall GSi' which was wrong as it should of been Astra GSi.
She contacted the DVLA to get it changed to 'Astra GSi' but also had '24v' added because we were fitting the V6 motor at the time - it now says Astra GSi 24v
