God Damn Heater Valve

Im currently doing a lot of work to my e30, The engine is out, I've changed every bearing and ring, lapped all the valves. done most of the suspension bushes, boot, seals you name it, I've done it! (or doing it) while ive got a few weeks off work

The heater valve has been dribbling a bit so i took it off and apart,

Lots of the edges of the solenoid were very corroded so I got it all to its bare bones to clean and then replace the orings. WHEN......

.... I merely touched the diaphragm and it was that weakened and fragile it cracked and disintegrated into about 1000 pieces.

Im struggling to get hold of a new valve. Ive rang all the part suppliers to no avail, Looks like im going to have to ring the dealer and probably get my cheque book out. if the cant get them then ill have to bypasses the valve to open all the time (its a cab so shouldn't get too hot


Does anyone know if i can replace this diaphragm with anything? maybe if someone has an old half broken heater valve laying around that i could steal the prts off perhaps

It's one of the more common parts to fail on an E30, but there are still plenty of perfectly good second hand ones out there.
