radiator caps...

guys i have 2 radiator caps one as a spare...but one says 200 on it the other says 140? which one is meant to be on the rad??? cheerss

Depends on your car! Most E30s use a 1.4 bar cap, but the originals should be binned, since there was a safety recall regarding them.

Which cap should be fitted to a facelift 325i? I read that for competition use a higher pressure cap should be used but I can't remember which one or where I read it.

All E30's should have the 1.4 bar cap.

The safety issue that Brian mentions is because the heater valve may not stand up to 2 bar pressure,and when they fail,they spay hot coolant into the passenger footwell...unless you have a wrong side drive car,when they spray hot coolant all over the driver's right foot......

i think this has answered my question! , 1.4 bar cap it is! i did have the 2 this answers why i kept having hot water in the passenger footwell!! happened twice now fingers crossed this will sort it!

So does the mighty iS have a different heater valve,then?
