Hi guys I've got 89 325 sport, I've recently changed the standard tape player for a CD player. Had to change a few connections as tape player was totally different.
Anyway since changing the CD player the speedo has stopped working (rev counter, fuel, temp all still work fine) has anyone else heard of or encountered the same problem? Or is it just a coincidence it stopped working same time as changing tape player?
Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem when I bought my cab, the aftermarket stereo and butchered wiring had blown a fuse that was somehow shared with the speedo. It was a few years ago so can't remember which fuse it was (something tells me it was No. 14) but check all your fuses. A tell tale sign is if the MPG guage is also not working properly.
The other candidate is a break in the wire that runs from approx under the back seat to the plug in the differential.

Right I'll check the fuses when I get home - the Mpg gage isn't working either so fingers crossed might just be a fuse!
