how i know if a AFS is not working probelry?

sorry, is a AFM. we call it Air Flow Sensor (AFS) over here. how do i know one is not working properly? i think my 325i AFM is not working properly but don't know how to check? pls help.

Connect a 6 or 9 volt battery across the terminal of its socket that connect to the ends of the carbon potentiometer track, then measure the voltage on the wiper terminal as you open the door slowly by hand.
The voltage should always rise as you do this. Any drop in voltage at any point indicates a duff AFM.

MY AFM IS GOOD. THE PROBLEM IS, IF I SWITCH ON MY 325I FOR AROUND 10 TO 15 SEC THEN I START THE CAR AND THE ENGINE STALK. JUST LIKE OVERFLOW. CAN SOMEBODY TELL HOW MANY BAR ON THE FUEL PRESSURE? 2.2 BAR? MY FUEL PUMP IS LOCATE OUTSIDE OF THE FUEL TANK AND GOT A DAMPER (SOMETHING LIKE REGULATOR) WHAT IS THAT FOR?
