your suppose to do it the next day,but i suppose you can get away with as long as you can.the last car i bought in england aswell and i got away with it for 6months,
Yeah we pay road tax,
Vrt is a total fuckin rip off,Basically its taxing tax,its illegal in the EU,
but the goverment gets so much revenue off it,it cant abolish it,
ditry scumbags,
its suppose to be gone in about 20 years
GREAT!
If you were to bring in an e46 bmw M3 2003 say,you would pay the guts off 18grand VRT on it,
Its 30% off the cars book value on cars over 1.9,
madness!!!!!

Very nice darren,best of luck with it.Is it a 325i or a 325sport?
Reason i ask is that if it's a genuine sport it'll cost between 1650 and 2200 euro to clear the vrt,not 400euro(325i).I got caught out when i went to clear mine, thinking it would only cost 480

I was thinking it was more too, I recently sold a sport to a guy from Ireland, and he said if it's a sport it costs some stupid amount of money to register it there. He was registering it as a 325ise.technoviolet wrote:Very nice darren, best of luck with it.Is it a 325i or a 325sport?

yeah ill be registering it as an se, dont see any sports on the VRT website so,ah well
Im in the same boat as yourself . I have a sport and its ireland for the past 14 months . bought it off a a guy that never registered it but it didnt matter too much cos he kept it garaged for a year (85k)must get pics up !!
So i went to register it a couple of weeks ago i had to pay between 1100 - 2200 depending on contition . Wouldnt mind but only paid 481 euros six months ago c**ts

Darren, registering it as an se wont work.Unfortunately they arent as stupid as they look in the vro.Your v5 document will state 325"sport" and when they see that they will quote you 325sport prices.Anyway if you could get away with reg.it as an se then it would state se on your new irish vehicle reg.cert when its really a sport and for future resale this would throw doubt over whether its a genuine sport or not.Beleive me ive been through all this horseshit already.darren_rice wrote:yeah ill be registering it as an se, dont see any sports on the VRT website so,ah well
