Is it better to get them powder coated then painted???

And what is the colour code for both paint and powder???

Paint them. I used to love powdercoat. Its lasts well, but when the wheels start too corrode under the surface, it is impossible to remove from the rest of the wheel for refinishing.

I know not all powdercoats are the same, but paint is much easier to deal with second time around.

I do believe BMW wheels of the period were painted Polaris Silver.

Would chemical cleaning or soda/vapour blasting help keep them from rusting?
