HI Guys

So after much work on the car I am finding that with enough of a downpour I am getting a trickle of water up against the firewall . I have checked the Elephant trunk and confirmed this is all dripping out where it should.

There was a crack on the firewall but this has been sorted as well.

I cannot see anywhere else this could be coming from and have had a light up under the dash.

I think (may be wrong) that the leak could be from 3 sources.

1. Pedal box - Where it attaches to the firewall, I know there is a gasket behind there, but how much of a mission is it to get to that gasket

2. Steering column mount - 2 nuts that I can see , undid both of them but still unable to pry the damn thing away from the firewall, what am I missing

3. Heater box - top end where it attaches to the front, I am not in the mood to pull the entire dashboard out to pull the heater. Is there a way I can reduce the amount of water that gets into the skuttle panel (block the vents or something ???)

Simplest thing to do is to pour water into the scuttle vents and look for drips in the dash. If you find drips, you've got a rusty bulkhead.

carpet out and talcum powder the inside where you think it leaks and wash the car.

The talc should have water marks from a leak.

carpets are out so I can see the trickle , its right up against where the heater box is but right right on top , so I guess that's where the seal is .

This is Souf Africa , no rusty bulkhead confirmed when I did the blower motor.
