m50 engine mpg

I am thinking of doing a engine conversion to a touring to a 318is, im thinking of an all rounder, ie fuel consumption, reasonably quick, strong engine etc.

What kinda mpg would i expect from a 24v 2.5 engine?

i get around 20mpg and i got the 2.8 with m50 inlet and remap! ,

but it dont help because i stil use the 1.8 diff so its so high revving! ,

My track car has a 2.8 with the usual mods, e36 gearbox and a 3.25:1 diff. Sitting at 65-70 mph the way to a track I get 30mpg, once on track that drops to 11mpg
