Guys I've found a baur project. Its deffo a project, looks original and all there but is very tatty with faded paint, sunfaded and split seats, rusty bumpers and some ominious rust on the rear end of the drivers sill. Judging by the exhaust its a 4 pot.
On the plus side, the roof looks ok, and it appears pretty much unmolested.
Views on a baur as a worthwhile long term project in general?

A four-pot baur with sill rust will be worth a pack of smokes and a pint - nothing more.
After the thousands of pounds of restoration work needed, it might be worth two packs of smokes.

Baur is a far better compromise than the factory offering, giving wind protection from fixed side windows and the option of leaving the rear folding part up whilst having the main roof section off.
Having the hoop connecting the B pillars will make it as stiff as a saloon,so the handling will not be compromised in the same way as the factory offering.
Against that, the factory offering is achingly pretty with the hood and windows down, but a gloomy place to be with the hood up.
You pay's your money and makes your choice, but if I could have found a facelift Baur,I would have bought it!

Perhaps as the number of Baurs on the road dwindle they'll be better appreciated by us all....

Had a word. Guy wants £800
, but apparently someone has put a £200 deposit down and has a couple more months to get back with the rest. I doubt his guide dog will be able to find it again.

I certainly would spend any time on it. Except to drive it straight to the weighbridge.
It's a 4 pot undesirable Baur that needs welding. End of.
Although check the cc's as early 2.0's had a single exit exhaust. Which would still make naff all difference so back to the above really.
