Today we (rallyprep.co.uk) became the new owners of this BMW.

It was found at the side of a house an hour away from where I live. A swift wave of some cash and the car was ours.

So from what I can tell it is an Alpina C2 2.5 built upon a 1985 E30 323i base car.

It has the front lower spoiler, speedometer, steering wheel, seats, rear spoiler, and 7x16" alloy wheels.

I have not looked ove the car properly yet but the missing parts are;
The cylinder head, and the full exhaust system/manifold.
The gearknob

I am hoping the car comes with a dogleg gearbox and LSD but am not holding my breath !!!.

The plaque on the dash states that this is car number 0058 as shown in the pictures.

Nice find! Always make me me wonder how people ever let a car like that get so bad? :(

I know I never understood it either !

In this case it was a divorce which left the last owner with her ex husbands car while it looks like he was half way through some major work ???

Another zoner stumbled across this car a few years ago and i explained to them then that it was a press car (as seen in the book you posted pics of which i also have).

I was interested in the car back then but the guy didnt reply to my PM's.

From what i recall, the car started out with an over drive gearbox but went back to Sytners to have a dog leg direct drive box and matching diff to improve performance.

Its unusual in that it had white wheels and the rare Alpina striped Recaro LS's.

Will try to dig out the thread.

A REAL shame that you did not offer this up as a complete car for restoration!

I guess greed got the better of you in fragging it, especially with those prices! You must be smoking some good shit!

Bo llocks to the door count!

It was a rare Alpina, an ex press car and had most of the important bits.

A much more worth project than some scabby old tech 1!

You served the interior first though right?

That spelt the end imo.

No,

I kept the car complete, never removed a thing, and swapped it for a different car (E21 non sunroof) which I could build a rally car upon and was a lot more useful to us.

I would like to have seen it restored but would never have had the time realistically.

We have many projects and I have myself an e21 Alpina which I am itching to rebuild.
