Hello, i'm matthew from doncaster and i thought i would sign up as i am after a E30 320 for my next car to replace my VW scirocco GT2 :P

I am hooked on them now after a mate let me drive his E palter 320i, which he was going to sell me but then changed his mind last minute

I saw 1 today though thats been stood 2 years with 132K on it with full bmw history and needs a bit of rust sorting out, would you guys say thats worth going for or to walk away?

Welcome to the zone mate

You have seen the car so you would be in the best position to say if its any good or not. How bad is the rust and how much is the car going for?

I wouldnt worry about the milage if it has good history so you know it has been looked after well.

It needs a new o/s/f wing and rust sorting on the sills (not that much) and rear arches, the car was a non-runner though because the battery is flat, the owner is going to get it running so i can have a proper look and a road test... will be having a good look underneath too.

He also hinted that he might put it through a test before i take it and its up for Ԛ£800..... hopeing to get that for my 92 rocco

Kezza, i am from Adwick, you may have seen this flying about...

remember that the shitter you are looking at has been stood for 2 years, even if this has been inside a garage it don't do a car much good to be stood and in the short term you will probably come across all sorts of failures from crusty seals and leaks etc.

Keep your eye on out here for stuff for sale and if you do buy off ebay then go and look before bidding unless it is beer money

no probs, what's your age? can you stretch to insurance on a 325? fuel consumption is no different nor are the prices unless you want something with genuine mtec kit on.

i assume you want a 320 for the noise? if not bothered then consider a healthy 318i is about on par with a 320 without the horrendous thirst

8O E30BeemerLad has me pegged already :P

Yeah its the 6 pot noise that i like and am in the mood for somthing a bit different and RWD, I am 24 btw and work as a mechanic but used to build engines for a living, worked in a calibration lab for a few years too but always come back to cars ever since my first job as an apprentice for honda uk.

I dont think i can quite streatch to insurance for a 325 any time soon as i changed jobs just before christmas and my now ex boss managed to screw my wages up sending me firmly into overdraught hell
