Anyone tried to bring back their door mouldings to look close to new? (Without painting them)

I have new ones for the wings which will stick out like a sore thumb compared with the old ones.

Who said peanut butter!? winkeye

The best way is to remove them, and warm them with a heat gun on a very mild heat

That heat gun method works even though the moulding are rubber like?

I probably should have called them bump strips in the OP.

You could just try working them with wd40 on a regular basis. This might revive the dead surface
You could also try wet sanding with 2000 grit. Not enough to damage , but just remove the dead oxidized material.

Heard shoe wax works wanders on tyres maybe it would do the trick with the door ruber too although might stain your clothes

Used to use this stuff:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TURTLE-WAX-BL ... 35c283e0ec

It makes ruber look like new matt black but noticed that if used on plastick parts that are exposed to the sun it makes plastik surface brittle or something and looks older than it is after a while (even though it is a known brand) maybe it is better for ruber than plastic.

Don't know why I actualy bothered to advertise it lol
Take it as an independent review ;)

I have some C4 which works great on plastics but will it make the rubber as new? (made my grills and new, except for all the scratches that were there)

Had thought of polishing with the DA but not heatgun or C4, I've some old/spare trim pieces I'll see which works well with them.
