What do the BMW techs think of the F20 M135i?
There are some belting deals around at the minute for this little gem.
There seems to be loads of hype surrounding the M badge and the fact that the car does not sport a LSD but some of the you-tube videos show this little cracker giving current V8 M3 a good pasting.
This is without the LSD as well!
There is also some post's of people squeezing 40 mpg on a run over on piston heads.
There is the auto v manual debate as well but it does seem a lot of performance for sensible money.
I'm dreaming again of course but it just seems to good to be true
320 bhp
40 ish mpg if driven like a granny.
All it needs is a slipper and your away. Dare I say it but the modern equivalent the 325i sport?
Its a shame it pig ugly!

Not driven an F2x M135i yet but have driven plenty of other F2x models and other BMW's with the N55 engine as used in the M135i.
Great driving car and the engine is a cracker with lots of torque.
I'd be inclined to go for the 8 speed auto as its quicker, more economical and if its a daily car used in traffic then it makes more sense. It's got paddle shift for play time as well.
Quaife ATB and you're away!
As for looks, with the M sport kit and in the right colour they look great imo. There is also the M performance range of accessories jazz it up but they are expensive!
Its a bargain of a car for the performance at circa £30k base price but once you have specced some worthwhile/needed options its going to be closer to £35k.
Have you had a go on the on line "build your car"?

Serious turd for not a lot of coin, you could pay more for a Golf , which would not see which way the 135 went and would still be just a Golf. Yes its a bit ugly but so are most turds in its class.
Good luck with the 40 mpg unless you are a very dead cooont !

I'd have one!
This car was developed to sh*t all over the mk7 golf GTI & is slightly cheaper to boot.
Despite the BM being RWD, having a hundred more ponies & cheaper I bet the GTI will outsell it. To prove people are cu*ts and will buy any old tat from VAG.
I'd personally drive one, they can be cool but I hate the coupe!

M135i is very much the "it" vehicle of the moment. Loads of hype by the mags, Pistonheads etc.
I drove for a whole weekend a new 1 series 118d in 2012 and actually really enjoyed it. Was an automatic. And was nice to park or anywhere without worrying about it. What impressed me most was the compliance on British roads, the way it soaks up bumps, and also diesel with an auto I actually thought was a nice combo. Having not really driven diesel + auto before. I was impressed with the drive and IMO is actually nicer to drive around London ie within M25 than E46 M3 CS or E46 323Ci IMO. The 1 handles bumps and soaks them up in a way an E46 could only dream of IMO. Steering wasn't as nice though in the 1.

Check this deal out. If you have a loan for a car then this deal is cracking. Just over a bag down then £260 per month
I've had a quote back for 20,000 per annum and it comes out £316 per month.
How fooking tempting is this.

Horrible looking car - I'd be inclined to agree with rh306.
If you're talking the 2 door version, I'd be very interested.

As would I, but its a company car I am looking to run with restrictions on age.rh306 wrote:..if I was blowing £25K+ I'd want something that would appreciate rather depreciatescott180gtb wrote:Check this deal out. The above deal is a no brainer. If I was to purchase lets say a £16000 VAG Diesel rep mobile I would take a hit of min £6000 in depreciation over two years.
New car covered buy warranty and hand it back for the cost of depreciation?
Man maths I know but doable in my book.
