Trying to get my m30 going, still not having much luck. Basically:

Got a good spark

Got a good strong jet of fuel from the pipe going to the fuel rail and fuel pump is brand new

When trying to start the pump makes a groaning noise and when you release the key it sounds like fuel is swishing in the tank. When you take pipe off of the fuel rail to check fuel is being pumped, it doesn't make the groaning noise and fuel flows freely

Thought maybe FPR is jammed, so tried 2 others both off of working engines and still the same

Plugs are wet with fuel, and a couple of times after cranking I've taken fuse 11 out and tried again and it tried to fire, as if overfuelling, but it isn't doing that anymore.

Thought maybe fuel return is blocked, so disconnected fuel return pipe and tried starting, again pump just makes the groaning noise and it doesn't start, no fuel coming out of return pipe when trying to start

Car was running perfectly before, I just took the engine and box out to swap the box over, and put it back together, and it hasn't started since

Injectors were refurbed last year, and I've done a couple of trackdays and lots of road miles since I fitted them

Anyone got any ideas what I can try next please?? Sounds like something is blocked somewhere. I don't know if it's something obvious I'm overlooking, but I think I've tested everything I can think of now!

Sure you have the fuel pipes the right way around?

Supply should be nearest the window

It must be something to do with the pump, like everything else is the same as before.

Have you taken the pump out and checked it is all ok and there is no strainer blockage or packaging left on it ??

I guess what you could do is buy one of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APS-Universal ... 5d41220943

and let it suck from a jerry can of fuel and supply direct to the fuel rail connection with the return going back to your jerry can

if that works you know its fuel supply system/pump which has a problem

on the plus side you could then sell on the fuel pump to someone like me who has a pre-facelift turd in desperate need of a decent fuel pump

I've checked and triple checked the pipes are the right way round as the symptoms are just like the pipes are the wrong way round.

Jim, the pump itself is fine, it is brand new and when the inlet pipe into the fuel rail pipe is disconnected the fuel flows nicely, it's just when the pipe is connected back up the pump starts making a noise
