Has anyone ever retrofitted a sunroof to a car, I know they have there pros and cons but would be interested in giving it a go. Obviously I don't have the facilities to leave laser cut finish. Does anyone specialise in fitting ones? Much help appreciated.

to be honest mat unless your in dire need of one, a non sun roof shell is probably best kept like that.

sure someone on here may know of a specialist though, where abouts are you in the country?

a non sunroof shell is desirable why would you want to start fitting a sunroof to it?

I always thought that sunroof lip style just made the car look that extra bit spotter. Am in Northern Ireland

Lots of aggro, not worth doing at all.

the sunroof is a notorious rust trap and has killed off many an E30, on top of that a non sunroof shell is stiffer and although your unlikely to notice it on a road car its hugely desirable to the motor sport crowd

If you not attached to your current E30 and its in good condition why not offer to swap it for one with a sunroof, you never know they are quite rare in the big scheme of things someone may fancy a deal on it

Jaymic in Cromer used to do them for the 02 by just chopping through the a, b and c pillars and the welding them back on. This way you get the head lining and all the other odds and sods. I dont believe that it was ever considered to be that much of a big deal.
