As far as i know and what i have on mine are 205/55 R15.
Depends what sort of ride you are trying to achieve ?
-Comfort
-Sport
-Bit of both
-Track
Any tyre shop who operate in a back year side street should see you fine from 50 - 60 pounds each tire. Wait around for the gods of e30 to get back to you with a little more information. Hope this helps

Well i want it to be comfortable and i don't want them to look massive if you know what i mean, the car isn't sporty nor will it be used on track

On ebay a trader is currently selling Vredestein Sportrac 5s for £50 per tyre. A further bit of Internet research shows the same seller offering them for £40 per tyre. A bargain considering they're normally £80-£100 each. I've had the older version, Sportrac 3, on my E30 for the last few years and rate them highly.

Depends what you call budget!!!
205/55/15 is what you want - Toyo T1-R's can be had for £61.50 each via ebay - or you'll get some lightly used decent brand tyres for a lot less if you have a little search!!!
If you're budget is smaller than that, have a little search for some lightly used second hand tyres of a decent brand!!!
As for 'budget' tyres/brands - I'd steer clear personally!!!
Tyres are often overlooked, but I think they can be the most important part of your car - you go nowhere without them and they are the main thing stopping you falling off the road, in any weather conditions!!! They don't just affect cornering - they can change your braking distance, stability and more!!!
I driven on some scary cheap tyres before!!! And had a couple of blowouts on 'good' second hand tyres in the last year or so!!!
On the other hand, the used Bridgestones I had on my cabby were amazing in the wet and made the car a lot more stable!!!
And the used winter tyres I have were amazing in the snow last year!!!
Personally, I think they're worth some investment - unless you're unlucky, they should last you a fair while driving normally/sensibly!!!

Guys i presume for best comfort on your standard 15 bbs x spoke wheels we would use 205/55 r15's which i am currentl using.
firstly can we use 205/50 r 15 i presume you can but would this then decrease comfort?
And what is the lowest we can use on these wheels without causing damadge to the rim?
so it some what looks as if we have nice low platform tires on and not your london bus tyres on filling the gaps in the arches ??

50's will improve handling at the sacrifice of comfort.
It will also reduced the rolling circumference which means the speedo will over read even more and you fuel consumption may increase slightly.
Plus the look shit
55's all the way!

Ahh i have always gone with 55's and to be honest its always been fine. i questioned that just to see if there was any point in considering a change if that lol.
I see many new bmw's with low platform tires and just grew to like them and now every tim i look at mine i feel as if i have the london bus tires on mine

To run lower profile tyres and keep the rolling circumference the same you need bigger wheels,
Say 205/50 on a 16" wheel for example.

Personally I find the 50 profile enough of an improvement in terms of feel and handling that the negatives of harder ride (very marginal on a correctly inflated tyre) and looks are not an issue. Speedo overread wise it is bigger all, about 3mph at 60 and a lot of that is built in.
Its a personal preference thing, might be worth trying a set out and seeing how you feel.

50's look silly unless the car has a 60mm drop.
Too much arch gap.

totall random question would a 195/50 fit on or would this cause a streched look?

Yep, thats the one I mentioned above. Haven't tried the Sportrac 5 yet but the Sportrac 3 is a superb tyre.

The ns-2 is a floppy aquaplaney pos that can make an e30 pull to one side constantly. Avoid on an e30.

Have a look on here
They list db and rate all tires normally.
So you will be able to get a good set for a reasonable price fella

Pic of 50 profiles on standard 15' BBS'.

I picked up 4x Michelin PE2's (my favourite tyre TBH) for £50 a corner. Won't find a better all round tyre IMO.

The only decent one is the Bridgestone. Like Darkchild said get these. They are a decent brand, there very cheap plus they are the correct size.jon-m42 wrote:where do you all get your tires from?
