My heater fan doesn't work.
It worked about 2 weeks ago, but since then I've had the car stored up and done the head gasket and changed a subframe etc etc. I took the blower out on saturday to give a greasing, but haven't been at a point to safely connect the battery until this evening.
I gave it a greasing because sometimes in the mornings, it won't work until you whack it up to four, and then it'll slowly get moving, and then you can use the different speeds (like it's seized and won't get moving without full power). Also, it'll sometimes squeal.
Now, I took the motor back out tonight, and hooked it up to a battery, and it works fines. I don't appear to have any voltage from the two wires going into the motor. The fuse (#20 I believe) is intact and swapping it for another 30A fuse does nothing.
So why did my heater blower work, and now it doesn't? Are there any other common causes of a lack of voltage? Is it simply that there is some fail safe in the system? Does it need exactly 12v to work (I haven't had the car started yet). Any ideas? Or has a mouse/rat eaten my wiring?
I'm tempted to wait till tomorrow when I start the car to see if it works then, but if not, I'd like some ideas, as it's getting cold.

Have you touched the starter motor wiring during your work?
Do the door mirrors work?

Yes I've had the starter motor out, and had the wiring off in the process. It is all connected now though, although the engine has no oil in it so I haven't started it or attempted to start it.
Do the mirrors work on the same system? I can't really check as the car is 20 miles away but I can do later.
Is there a link here somewhere?

Sorted!
Just got to the at and put oil in it. It wouldn't start and the mirrors weren't working. Fuse 10 was intact (auto to manual conversion) so I checked the starter wiring and I had put the solenoid exciter wire on the wrong terminal.
