M30 Emmissions failure

Couple days ago I finished my m30 conversion and today I took it for a MOT, it failed on the emissions test. Below are the results:

Overall Result FAIL

what do you guys reckon I could do to bring down the emissions?

Give it a good thrash with some redex before the MOT

Add some sea foam

Or

Take it to a more 'friendly' MOT station

As it looks like its running rich it could be an air leak so check all vacuum hoses

Those results look like it was tested as a 1992 onwards car. What year car was the m30 from and what year is the car you've put it in?

The limits for your car are 1200 ppm HC and 3.5% CO.
Your MOT tester is unfit to do his job.
The age of your car and the car that the engine came from are not relevant.
Take it back to the tester, educate him in how to do his job, then demand your pass certificate.

Edit: The South African 335i doesn't appear in 'the book' does it??

I also thought that the emissions test results weren't right, I have had a look at the emissions paperwork again, it seems it has been tested as a 1993 316i with a lambda sensor, this is what my car was originally from the factory.

Do I tell the tester to retest the emissions as 3.5 engine without a lambda sensor? I am just worried about him getting funny with me over the matter.

Refer him to the flow chart "Exhaust Emissions - Spark Ignition - Passenger Cars 1 August 1992 to 31 August 2002" at the end of section 7.3 of the Inspection Manual for Classes 3, 4, 5 and 7 Vehicles.

Also, point him towards the nearest branch of Specsavers. There's something seriously wrong with his eyesight if he can't tell the difference between a little 1.6 M40 and an M30 anchor.

A dodge you could try, is to disconnect one or two of the injectors, and run it through the test as a four or five-cylinder engine.

It worked for me on a 320i that had a stripped spark plug thread.
