Hi Everyone!
I've been lurking for awhile and have almost read all the wiki articles. I've been looking for an e30 for the past 1-2 months now, patiently waiting for what works for me.
I came across this listing on Craigslist and was wondering what your opinion was on the recent maintenance relative to the listing price of the car. Is the recent maintenance the owner listed justifying the
[edit: price is now $3000 (1900 pounds)]
$3600 (2276 british pound sterling) price tag?
edit: [see below for link]
Any input appreciated! Thanks!

UPDATE::
so the seller has reposted the same car but this time he listed the price as $3000 (1900 british pound sterling)
Hereis the link to the page:

Speaking to my brother, he says this car would be more in the range of $1500-$2000 (950 - 1266 british pound sterling)
However, I am willing to pay up to $2500 (1581 british pound sterling) for this car because it has 4 main things that I want in my e30:
1. manual
2. white on black
3. 4 door
4. 318i
What do you all think of
1. the price. what would you pay for it?
2. the amount of mods/maintenance hes done on it. be wary?
3. my 4 main things i want in my e30. do you think any of these are "unecessary" or "not a big deal?"
Request: Advice/input on this 1991 bmw 318i e30 Alpine

Because to everyone except a few misguided kids, they are a more desirable model than a two door.pacerpete wrote:Unless you are Chinese , why would you want a four door ?
Can't see anything to worry about in the 'mods' that have been done, and the listed faults are easily sorted.
Listen for rattles, etc., from the timing chain. If this engine is still on the originals at 250k miles, there could be a biggish bill lurking for replacement of timing sprockets, chain, guides, etc.
Very difficult for us in the UK to value this car, as market conditions are different. Biggest problem here is rust in the bodywork, but depending on where this car has spent its life, this may be of great concern, or of no concern at all.

How is a four door more desirable than a two door except in that it weighs more ?

I want a 4door because I like the practicality of fitting 4 people in a car without having to move my seat and because I read this thread about them not being too different

But upon further research and consultation, it seems like the pictures are a bit deceiving. For example, different pictures show different steering wheels and wheels. I asked the seller to send me updated pictures. All in all, I think for the same price, I can get something better.
Once again, thank you all for your consideration and input. I appreciate the feedback and will continue waiting for the right car to show up.
